: Details and Condition: These adorable bronze squirrel bookends were sculpted by Max Le Verrier (French, 1891-1973) during the height of the Art Deco period in Paris. Each one is modelled seated on his hind legs, holding a nut to his mouth, with curled tail. The hefty green-bronze cast metal has developed a deep and lustrous patina with age and is mounted on a black marble base.
