Details and Condition: Stunningly beautiful miniature vase in brown speckled glaze. This glaze was developed by Nathalie Krebs in 1931 and is not very common., likely designed by Gunnar Nylund before leaving Saxbo. Marked with kiln, “Saxbo”, the model number 16 and size II. This vase in an early piece from the period between 1931-1937. Saxbo (1930-1968) is now widely recognized as one of the finest independent ceramic workshops in Scandinavia with a wide and far ranging influence on several generations of ceramicists. Today, pieces are included in the collections of the Copenhagen Industrial Arts Museum, The Swedish National Museum, the New York Museum of Modern Art and the New York Metropolitan Museum of Arts.
