Details and Condition:: Very unusual side table by Johannes Andersen for C. F. Christensen, Silkeborg. Very pretty sculptural design. comprised of solid teak throughout with a suspended cane shelf floated between the legs. Handles are integrated on the legs making moving around a breeze. Johannes Andersen was born in 1903. He was certified as cabinet maker in 1922 and opened his own workshop a few years later. Successful from the start, he created his proper style, influenced by Danish currents and Scandinavian trends. He worked for several manufacturers as well as on his own until the eighties.
