Details and Condition: Extraordinary bulb vase in brownish colored glazes by Carl Harry Stålhane. Marked H-55, R with three crowns and CHS. The markings indicate that it was produced for the international design and home interior exhibition, which took place during the summer of 1955 in Helsingborg (southern part of Sweden). The theme was arts and crafts, with an aim of showing how modern design could be used in commercial as well as luxury godos with exhibitors from 10 different counties. Today, Stalhane’s works are in the collections at the National Museum, Stockholm, Industrial Arts Museum in Copenhagen, and the New York Museum of Modern Art.
