: Rare sterling silver jug designed by Karl Dittert in the 1960’s. The jug is marked with 925 for sterling silver as well as a crescent moon and crown and a double eagle. The jug has a precious wood handle (probably mahogany) and has a perfectly fitted removable inner lid for retention of ice cubes ir pieces of fruits, Karl Dittert had hos won design practice since 1946, including both ecclesiastical and non-ecclesiastical metal items. His work in- cludes silver tableware for WMF (collaboration with Rosenthal, from 1960 onwards), watches ( Junghans, Schramberg, 1961), cutting tools for home use (Felix Gloria, Richartz, both Solingen, from 1963 onwards) and household products, e.g. universal cutter (Ritter- werk, Gröbenzell, from 1967 onwards), telephone equipment (Telefonbau und Normalzeit, Frankfurt am Main, 1971). He also produced workplace studies for Telefonbau und Normalzeit, preparing the design of complex furniture systems for VOKO.
